J. Barry Vaughn has served parishes in Alabama, California, and Pennsylvania and was founding director of Servant Year, one of the Episcopal Church’s young adult service programs. He has taught at several universities and the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia. A graduate of Harvard, Yale, and Scotland’s University of St. Andrews, he has published numerous articles, as well as Bishops, Bourbons, and Big Mules: A History of the Episcopal Church in Alabama (University of Alabama Press, 2013). Barry loves books, movies, swimming, cycling, working out, and is an accomplished pianist. He is a native of Alabama.
